Rest at last!

My brother and his family are returning home today and even though we will miss them so very much,  I have to admit I am looking forward to just staying home and doing nothing.  Well of course I will be hitting my craft space!  My little Joe turns five in two weeks and I am officially declaring a for the boys two weeks.  Invites and party treats to make.  I am quite excited.  Joe even wants to do some craft with his friends.  Watch this space!

My good friend Robyn and Vicki and I got together just before christmas and Robyn did some craft with the kids.  We are all craft crazy and it looks like our kids are loving it too.

Something different!

My wonderful friends Megs ordered some cards from me this silly season and she also needed some thankyou cards.  This is a bit different for me and outside my compfort zone.  What do you think?

I hope you had a wonderful christmas with your family and loved ones.  We did!  I am really looking forward to the new year and all that it will bring.  My baby is starting Prep in 2012 and my big girl is in year 2.  We will be fulltime homeschooling through the Brisbane School of Distance Ed due to our allergy situation and even though I am scared and aprehensive I am looking forward to getting myself a tad more organised than usual.  LOL! Try a load more, anyone who knows me well will be giggling right now.  I am not an organised soul at all.  Bring on the New Years resolutions.

Christmas Cards

I have been very busy doing orders for a few friends of mine for christmas cards.  My dear friend Geordie lent me her new christmas stamp set and I went a bit nuts.  I am very happy with the finished projects.  I hope you like them!

Oh I do love Chrismas!  Finally finished all the christmas shopping and will be getting the kids on to wrapping all the presents.  Our christmas day is going to be a very busy one this year.  We are travelling between families all day!  What are you doing for the big day?  Whatever it is I hope you have a wonderful day with the people that you love.

Teacher's Gifts

Here is our collection of gifts for our teachers.  I know it is bragging but I was very impressed with myself.  I looked like that organised mum who is on top of everything.  Mind you my friend Sarah won the race with a massive pile of home baked goodies.  Sarah you are an amazing cook!  We hide on her verandah from the kids and treat ourselves to tea and cake.  I love it!  Hows the serenity?

Not long now.  Are you ready for Christmas?

Well as you can see I have been doing some creating.  I am sorry that it has been so long!  This is a wedding card and gift box that I made for my friend Sarah.  I am in love with this colour.  It is a Stampin Up in colour and it is just lovely.  How sweet is the flower and of course I do love embossing with my bride stamp.  A silver and white base this time and I love it.  If you want me to make one like it for you all you have to do is ask.  I would be happy to create something special.  I hope you are all well and enjoying the build up to christmas day.

The Silly Season

More like the crazy season.  So sorry to have been so quiet for so long.  It has simply been crazy here with the end of school and family and preparing for christmas.  So I do apologise!  I have been creating so I will post some projects for you later today.  Hope you are all well and surviving this very busy time of year.  Check back here tonight for a lovely wedding project I have recently done for my lovely friend Sarah.  I think you will like this one, I certainly do!

Christmas Gift Tags

I don't know about you but I am a sucker for gift tags.  Here are some gift tags I have been making.  You can find some of them in my made it store, however if you would like some you can just email me or message me on the Hoots and Kisses facebook page.  I would be happy to create something special for you.

I hope you are all having a great week.  If you are looking for some fun for the kids why not stock up on craft supplies and let them loose!  My kids loveeeeeeeeee doing craft.   They could make their own cards or perhaps give them some photos and let them create their own memories in the form of a scrapbook page.  You can pick up ultra cheap craft supplies at any discount store and let them go.  The more creative freedom you give them the better.  This freedom really allows them to express themselves and make choices that they would not normally make.  You will be amazed at what they create.  (Sorry girls that is the teacher coming out in me!)  Watch this space.

One of my first purchases when I first started paper crafting was a heat gun used for embossing images on your works of art.  I am a huge fan of embossing and I love the elegance it adds to any project.  On this simple card I have embossed a fancy christmas tree and topped it with a gold star brad.

I had a lovely day in Kin Kin today.  It was so nice to catch up with everyone.  I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and remember the count down to christmas is well on the way.

Christmas Gift boxes

A beautiful gift box adds that special touch to a gift.  It is almost a keepsake in itself.  These boxes have a decorative band topped with a paper flower.  Contact me soon if you would like to order some for christmas.

I am heading to Kin Kin Markets tomorrow so if you are on the sunny coast and are looking for a beautiful hinterland drive come and visit the unique and funky markets at Kin Kin.  Have a lovely weekend.
